For the past nine years, Frito-Lay/PepsiCo, along with local retailers, bring together employee volunteers to partner with Feed the Children and a local agency (i.e. community center, food bank, homeless shelter) to help families in their community in need with food and daily essentials.
Care packages are distributed to families that have been pre-identified and issued a voucher to receive the donations. These families receive care packages that include food items, personal care items, fresh produce or canned food donated by local retailers and a variety of PepsiCo products. Ultimately, these donations help supplement meals for one week, with each market distributing these donations to 800 families.
In 2018, Frito-Lay/PepsiCo will host Feed the Children events in 19 markets across the U.S., with 15,200 families receiving donations – based on a family of four.
These efforts wouldn’t be possible without our employee volunteers, local retailers, Feed the Children and the local agencies at each event!
