Conserving Energy

conserving-energy-casa-grande-solar-panelsHow do you make a great tasting snacks without taking a bite out of the earth's natural resources? Luckily, our employees have been hard at work to help reduce the electricity we use to make each bag of Frito-Lay snacks. By using renewable energy like solar power and biofuels, by recycling heat and steam from our plants, and by monitoring how we use resources, we're aiming to use 45% less energy per bag of chips in 2017 than we did in 1999. We know what you’re thinking – wow.

  • A team of 41 environmental coordinators ensure sustainability at our facilities across the U.S. and Canada.
  • Frito-Lay facilities have earned the U.S. Green Building Council’s LEED Platinum certification at one facility and LEED gold certification at 15 facilities.
  • Our facility in Casa Grande, Ariz., uses solar photovoltaic systems to produce nearly 10 million kilowatt-hours of electrical power.

At Frito-Lay, you don’t have to choose between good work and good fun — because you know you’re creative and love what you do when you have the freedom to do both. Explore possibilities! »
