Ann Mukherjee Named Frito-Lay North America’s Senior Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer

PLANO, Texas - PepsiCo, Inc., (NYSE: PEP) today announced that its Frito-Lay North America business unit has appointed Ann Mukherjee as senior vice president and Chief Marketing Officer. She will report to Al Carey, FLNA President and CEO.

Mukherjee will be in charge of FLNA’s best-in-class marketing team, which has established itself as a cutting-edge leader among consumer product goods companies. Her consumer-centric programs for Doritos and Cheetos have won several of the highest awards in the advertising industry, including two Cannes Gold Lion Awards, the Grand Ogilvy Award and a Gold Effie Award.

“Ann’s work with Doritos’ Crash the Super Bowl -- along with a range of ground-breaking marketing for other FLNA brands, like Cheetos and Tostitos -- has set new standards for innovation in consumer brand marketing for our snacks businesses,” Carey said.  “Ann’s strong marketing skills and leadership profile make her the right person for the top marketing role at Frito-Lay.”

Mukherjee joined FLNA in 2005 as vice president of Marketing, leading the company’s total core portfolio. In this role, Mukherjee led the strategic revitalization of the company’s $7 billion core brands – Lay’s, Doritos, Tostitos, Cheetos and Fritos. Before joining the FLNA team in Plano, Mukherjee was VP - Marketing Insights and Innovation for PepsiCo’s Convenience Foods, based in Chicago. Mukherjee previously spent 12 years in a variety of marketing roles with increasing responsibility at other companies, including Kraft Foods and Diners Club. Advertising Age named Mukherjee as one of the top women in the industry to watch and Brandweek named her Marketer of the Year 2007. She earned a BA degree in economics and an MBA in finance, both from the University of Chicago.

Mukherjee succeeds Jaya Kumar, who was named President of PepsiCo’s Quaker Foods and Snacks business unit today.
